Colorado Happenings

Hello from Colorado! This is my first post in forever so there are lots of things to catch up on.

We are still settling in and adjusting to life in Colorado. There are many great things here that we are enjoying. For example, the girls love to run outside first thing in the morning to look towards the mountains and check for hot air balloons. They are so beautiful and a little tough to capture but I tried.

They have had more rain here than usual this Summer, which has not always been fun. However, we have seen some amazing rainbows!

Amelia and Izzy participated in a gymnastics camp this week called Go For the Gold! They had such a great time and learned a lot. They were so excited to show me their progress at the parent viewing on the last day. My videos did not come out so well so here are some pictures.

Yesterday was the Hunter Douglas company picnic, which was held at Coors Field before the Rockies game. It was a huge group of over 1,600 people and Doug did a great job speaking to the crowd and giving away raffle prizes. The twins were so excited to wear their new Rockies shirts and hats for the occasion. They enjoyed face painting and eating at the picnic. Then we made our way to our seats while Doug made his way to the field. He and a few employees went out onto the field before the game and were announced and shown on the jumbo-tron. It was very cool. Unfortunately, immediately after the National Anthem they announced that there was a rain delay due to an expected storm cell. We could have stayed in our seats since we were covered but we were three rows from the top of the stadium so I was not comfortable with this. Therefore, we went down and got Dippin Dots to fill the time. Then Alyssa's fever came roaring back and she completely melted down so we all left in the pouring rain. The rain delay lasted two hours so we are glad that we did not try to stay longer. Bummed that we did not see the game but had fun anyway.

Finally, whenever the girls get bored these days, we turn on the karaoke machine and have a dance/singing/gymnastics party! Here is a sample:



Next up, enjoying one more week of Summer before school starts! Mommy could not be more happy about this and will be counting down the days until the 20th! More updates then.
