First day of 3rd grade for Amelia and Izzy was a great one. They both love their teachers and are making new friends. Off to a great start!
A few weeks later, Alyssa had her first day of preschool. She is in the 3-year olds class and loves her teachers, Ms. K and Ms. Julie. She goes 3 days a week for 3 hours and absolutely loves it!!

Final Days of Summer
I cannot believe how far behind I am on blogging. So here are some highlights from the final days of Summer.
We took a fun family hike just north of Boulder. It was a bit hot but we all still enjoyed our first trail adventure.

This was called the Bulldog Rock!
A great view of the city from the Science and Nature Museum.
Bowling Fun!
Gymnastics Camp with friends
Great date night at Red Rocks seeing Train!
Back to school haircuts
Another Hunter Douglas picnic at Coors Field for a Rockies game. Yet, we have yet to see a single pitch thrown. A water main break outside stopped all water in and out of the stadium so the game was cancelled. Still got to enjoy face painting and Dippin Dots.

Big Girl Alyssa
Just a quick post on what a big girl Alyssa has become over the past two months. Once we got home from our travels, we quickly realized that it was time to be done with Alyssa's crib. She never once tried to get out of it but we were ready for her to be able to get up on her own instead of scream for me every morning. She loved it as you can see in the video below. For about 2 weeks, she still stayed in bed and called for me in the morning but now she gets up and runs in.
Alyssa had her 3 year check-up and did great, partly because there were no shots needed this year. She weighed in at 29.8 pounds (50%) and her height is 37-1/2" (50-75%). The doctor told Alyssa that she needed to go potty like a big girl and Alyssa looked her straight in the eyes and confidently said "NO". Dr. said that she was training like a boy.
Fast forward 2 weeks and I can finally say that Alyssa is potty trained!! We finally stayed home all day and made her wear underwear. She held it for over 6 hours and then finally gave in and went. She has been nearly perfect ever since. She is so proud of herself and I am so happy that we have finally accomplished this goal. Now on to the pacifiers!!

8th Birthday Celebration
After arriving home, we had just a few days to rest before it was time to celebrate the twins' 8th birthday. We kicked it all off with a fun party with their friends at Jump City. They loved every moment of it and I have to say that Doug and I had a little fun too! The next day, their actual birthday, we kept it more low key with their dinner of choice, burrito bowls, leftover cake and presents from us and other family. I took a few pics with my phone but they did not come out well. They loved all of their gifts and had a great birthday!
